Energy Efficiency of Chillers Improved by 8.9% 

Background

Three fresh water cooled chillers (two with heat recovery) producing over 1000TR to a commercial facility. Commercial chemicals such as biocide, scale and corrosion inhibitor are used in the condensing water. However mineral scale and biofilm continued to form on the condenser tubes. In order to improve the energy efficiency of chillers and enhance the quality of condensing water, Hydropath technology  was installed by the local distributor.

Result

After one year of operation an inspection was performed without pre-cleaning of the condenser, the energy efficiency of chiller is improved by approximately 8.9% , using the most accurate approach and strict criteria for analyzing the performance of chiller. The Return on Investment was realized in just 13 months.
