Legionella Control in Cooling Tower

Background

A shopping mall’s cooling tower system was determined to exceed specified limits for Legionella Pneumophilla bacteria despite a chemical management program. Management of the facility installed Hydropath technology on the cooling system and maintained the existing levels of chemical dosing and application procedures to determine the effectiveness of Hydropath.

Result

Bacterial growth was significantly reduced once Hydropath was installed and continued improvements after several months of system operation. The water quality has been maintained consistently, with bacteria counts below action levels.
